Other Work
In the spring of 2024, just before graduating from Loyola Marymount University, I wrote a book that was pitched to the 33 1/3 series, published by Bloomsbury. The focus of the submission was Porcupine Tree’s cult classic Deadwing from 2005 (pictured below). I managed to speak to fans, touring members, and ex-bass player Colin Edwin. My former professor and mentor, Evelyn McDonnell, served as my editor. The experience was illuminating, even if it did not get selected for publication; the project taught me volumes about getting a book from conception to reality. I am a musician, and have collaborated with a handful of others, some of whom have recorded and released influential music in their own right. I have been fortunate enough to nourish this passion by attending the King Crimson-centric Three of a Perfect Pair Camp for several summers since 2019. Listen to my music here.
For 17 episodes, I hosted a radio show at Loyola Marymount University through their KLMU station. Entitled II11 (“to eleven,” a reference to Spinal Tap), the show focused on delivering an eclectic ‘genre whiplash’ to its listeners once a week.
